Our Marin 99, Diane Rearwin Root shares history of her father’s Rearwin Aircraft: 1929 – 1940

Over the last few years, Diane Rearwin Root has donated much of her father’s memorabilia to the Pioneer Flight Museum in Kingsbury, Texas. Roger Freeman has restored and occasionally flies the Rearwin bi-wing (photo below). Only 6 of these airplanes were built, one of which Ruth Nichols flew in the very first Powder Puff Derby in 1929.
